Friend-to-Friend Classes: Adults from many nations enjoy learning to speak Conversational English, meeting new friends, and studying about American culture at FBCJ's Friend-to-Friend Ministry. Besides the two weekly activities listed below, special activities are planned throughout the year.
- When: Each Thursday during the school year from 8:45 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. New students may register any Thursday between 8:45 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
- Where: Under the main sanctuary, close to the nursery and daycare facility
- What: students share refreshments and enjoy songs, holiday activities, inspirational times, and programs to acquaint them with American life. Occasionaly they lead the group time. Eight classes are offered: beginner, intermediate and advanced Conversational English and reading/writing. Additional courses will be taught if there is sufficient interest.
- Nursery: Preschool children are cared for in the church by women who enjoy the little ones. This care is free.
- Because ours is a church based ministry, the Bible and the Christian way of life are presented during large group time each week.
- Other activities for students include visiting the homes of teachers, going to places of interest in Jackson, participating in special events at the church, and meeting for occasional dinners and/or picnics planned especially for our international friends and their families.
- All church members are encouraged to visit any Thursday morning to discover a wonderful worldwide ministry right here in our own church. Volunteers and assistance are always welcomed.
International Bible Class: All Adult internationals are invited join us in Worship at 9:00 a.m. each Sunday and then attend our 10:30 a.m. Sunday School Class designed just for Internationals. To find a class for your children and teens, see our listing of 10:30 a.m. Sunday School Classes.
