Jackson Water Crisis

September 2022

In August, we made a commitment as a church family to “Bring Joy to Jackson,” asking the Lord to help us take joy outside the walls of FBJ and to our beloved city. Jackson is now facing a nationally recognized water crisis and our community needs us.

As the Church, our time is now.

We are asking you to join us in these specific areas to best serve the community where God has placed us.

  1. DONATE: You can donate money to help provide water. Please make checks out to FIRST BAPTIST JACKSON and write “DISASTER RELIEF” in the memo line. You may also give online at FirstBaptistJackson.org/give and in the FBJ app.
  2. CONNECT: If you have bottled water you would like to give, contact our Serve Team at 601-768-2115 for more information.
  3. VOLUNTEER: Currently, we are delivering water to our ministry partners and local organizations that are providing water to people in areas of greatest need. Volunteering may also involve helping with unloading delivery trucks or assisting at a warehouse where the Mississipip Baptist Convention Board is storing water to be delivered to organizations as needed. To volunteer, please complete this form, indicating times and days that are best for you.

Join us in praying for our city, the leadership, and those affected by the water crisis as we seek to serve Jackson with JOY.
